Review on Recent Automotive Experimental Applications of Nano Coolants

Abhishek Gakare, Ashutosh Sharma, Gaurav Saxena

An automotive car radiator consists water and ethylene glycol as conventional coolants for many years Water and ethylene glycol are heat transfer fluids, which have low thermal conductivity and these techniques comes under nanotechnology and with ages of  advancement these fluid are known as “nanofluids” which has the speciality higher thermal conductivity than conventional coolants. The mentioned article is highlighted on the research and numeric carried out from pre- researchers on metallic/non-metallic oxide nano coolant, which was separated with various nano coolants like CuO, Al2O3, TiO2, and SiO2. This review is focused on required volumetric concentration of nano particles, flow and heat transfer performance of nanofluids used by researchers. The review, which is focussed on recent applications, will be useful for researchers working on nano coolants as their field of research.

Keywords: Al2O3, CuO, heat transfer enhancement, nanoparticle, SiO2, TiO2
