Investigation of Structural and Magnetic Properties of Gadolinium Substituted in Nickel – Cobalt Nano ferrite by Chemical Route

Abstract


Ni0.5Co0.5GdyFe2-y O4  nanoparticles were successfully synthesized via chemical route.  The Gadolinium (Gd3+) doped in Nickel (Ni) cobalt (Co) Nano Ferrite at various compositions such as Ni0.5Co0.5GdyFe2-y O4 (where y=0.025, 0.050, 0.075, 0.1, 0.125, 0.150) were synthesized by a simple cost-effective method involving sol-gel auto combustion process. Synthesized samples were sintered at 6000C temperature. The structural and magnetic properties of synthesized Gd3+ doped Nickel-Cobalt Nano Ferrite was investigated and presented in this report. The role of Gd3+(Gadolinium) substituted in Ni (Nickel)-Co (Cobalt) shows the formation of crystal phase, which are identified by X-ray diffraction method. The synthesized samples are cubic spinel structure. Vibrating Sample Magnetometer at the room temperature magnetic field versus magnetization was studied and it was confirmed that gadolinium doped influence on magnetic properties. The Vibrating Sample Magnetometer was used to obtain the Hysteresis parameters. The fabricated Ni0.5Co0.5GdyFe2-y O4 are soft and spinel structure with crystalline size is in the range of 54.8116 to 32.498nm.
