Studies on Optical and Electrical Properties of Biohybrid Devices

T. Shiyani, S. Agrawal, J. H. Markna, I. Banerjee

Abstract

We have reported the studies on optical and electrical properties of hybrid devices. The hybrid films were prepared using a layer of natural dye on ZnO thin films. ZnO thin film was fabricated on FTO coated glass substrate using magnetron sputtering. The natural dyes were extracted using aqueous method from basil, pomegranate, and spinach. It is important to control the molecular layers in the formation of hybrid electronic devices. The electrical characteristics of hybrid bilayer devices were measured by I-V characteristics to test the possibility for applications in electronics and photonics. The resultant electrical properties show that the proposed hybrid devices can be used to develop optoelectronic devices.
