Abstract

Definition of structural design air loads and the validation through flight clearance are brought out for the robust structural design. Impact of electronic flight control system degradation on structural design loads is
highlighted. The control law development during prototype phase effect the design load definition. Ultimate load factor reduction and fatigue life criteria are highlighted. Static and dynamic load assessments are
covered. Some issues on load alleviation are addressed. The information brought out in this paper is based on authors` experiences in aircraft design & development. It is valuable for structural design & weight
reduction.
