Abstract

As the composite-intensive aircrafts are the emerging trends of the aviation industry, the demand for composites with better performance and mechanical properties is going to get a boom. In the present study, an exertion is made to comprehend the composite material, glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) and the changes on the mechanical properties of the same when different types (continuous fibers, chopped strand mats) and different orientations (unidirectional, bidirectional, randomly oriented) of glass fibers are used. The objective of this paper is to understand and discuss the mechanical properties of the GFRP materials; and also to improve the performance and the properties of GFRP materials.
