Abstract

Personalized medicine is rapidly developing practice of medicine that uses an individual's genetic profile to guide decisions made in regard to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease. CML (Chronic Myeloid Leukemia) is characterized by a Philadelphia chromosome resulting from a reciprocal translocation between chromosomes 9 and 22, containing a chimeric gene called BCR-ABL. Management of patients with chronic myeloid leukemia has become increasingly difficult over the last few years since there are a variety of treatment options available. The ultimate challenge is to decide the most appropriate treatment strategy for an individual patient. To facilitate this, assessment of an individual patient's disease in terms of status, tempo and response to initial treatment needs to be determined. Over here we had tried to study five different marketed drugs of leukemia and its effects.
