Abstract

Zinc-doped cadmium oxide nanopowders with various Zn concentrations have been prepared using mechanochemical method. The structure and morphology of the as-prepared samples are investigated by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). The XRD result indicates that the average size of Zn-CdO powder is in nano range having a desired cubic phase. Surface morphology of sample is determined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and the distribution of zinc, cadmium and oxygen species in the prepared sample is identified by chemical composition mapping through EDS.
