Cooling Considerations for Photovoltaic Modules: A Comprehensive Review

Operating temperature has a major impact on photovoltaic (PV) module longevity and efficiency. High temperatures have the potential to impair PV systems' overall energy yield through performance degradation and decreased power output. Therefore, in order to preserve ideal operating conditions and optimize PV module performance, effective cooling strategies are essential. This paper offers a thorough analysis of emerging technologies and various cooling factors for photovoltaic modules, including both passive and active cooling methods. Each cooling approach's fundamental ideas, benefits, drawbacks, and most recent developments are covered in the review. The impact of cooling on PV module performance, energy yield, and reliability is also examined in this paper. The review's conclusions should help researchers, engineers, and policymakers choose and apply the best cooling techniques to increase the longevity and efficiency of photovoltaic systems.
