Cost and Quantity Comparative of DLCS and PCS Tower Structures in Conveyor Belt Systems

This research paper focuses on the study of transfer tower structures in conveyor belt systems is
recently used in industries for the transfer material to one place to another place. These framed
structures facilitate the smooth transfer of bulk materials from one conveyor belt to another, ensuring
a seamless flow throughout the system. Transfer towers serve as crucial junction points in material
conveying, accommodating various conveyor system geometries, orientations, and elevations. The
objective of the paper is to assess the economy and safety of transfer tower structures by exploring
double layer conveyor system (DLCS), parallel conveyor system (PCS). The results have been
analysed under conveyor load in belt tension, the idlers, pulleys, including caused wind load,
equivalent load and gravity load with the help of Staad Pro software. The behaviour of structure has
been studied out to check economic viability with safety on association of various belt conveyor
systems. The outcome shows that if density of material is higher than in both conveyer equal amount
of material has been lifted. But for less density material, the parallel conveyor system can transferred
almost 20% more material rather than double conveyor system. But in composite material condition,
the double conveyor system can Transferred almost 30% more material than parallel conveyor
system.
