Incorporating SystemThinking into Workshop Equipment Care: A Preliminary Practical Perspective

Wilson Udo Udofia

Abstract

The systemis characterized with various inputs, which go through certain processes to produce certain outputs, which together accomplish the overall desired goal for the system. Equally, every project is characterized by its own governing rules and procedures if success is to be timely achieved. The integration of system thinking into workshop maintenance requires a high level of integration of modern technological discoveries into an existing system practice with clear focus and norms targeted at meeting both the needs of the project and of the client. Findings over the years have indicated that although the integration has been embraced, the practical experience, knowledge and understanding of system thinking differ.Considering the importance of workshop equipment in the provision of effective instruction to the learners there is need to update the maintenance techniques in the workshops in line with the dynamic global needs through the integration of systematic thinking through the mindset of the learners through good workshop planning, storing and maintenance of workshop facilities since the workshops offer chances for practical training of the learners with saleable skills in different trades.
