Abstract

Austenitic and ferritic steels are widely used where corrosion resistance is important. They are widely used in chemical and petroleum industry. There are cases where both austenitic and ferritic steels together may use like automobile radiators, automobile exhaust pipes. In such cases one need to use welding process to joint two different metals. Welding need to be carry out at very low speeds, so that proper joining of two dissimilar metals takes place. The objective of the paper is to analyse the works reported by earlier researchers on dissimilar metal joining of austenitic and ferritic steels using various arc and non arc welding processes.
