Abstract

Ceramic become one of the potential materials that provide lots of advantages compare to metal. Generally it
can withstand very high temperature without melting or decomposing which is good for thermal insulation.
Ceramic materials are hard, brittle, and strong in compression, weak in shearing and tension. For decades,
ceramic has been applied in high temperature environments such as in heat engine, turbine, and recently in
rocket system. In high temperature application, the strength of material such as metal is decrease as the
temperature increase. However, material such as ceramic having high melting point which suitable to be utilized
in high temperature environment.
