Handling Qualities-Fighter Aircraft
Abstract
Aircraft handling qualities quantify the extent to which the pilot can control the aircraft and accomplish the task with ease or difficulty. Stick force gradient, recovery rates from maneuvers, layout of controls, case of control operations, and mission accomplishment form the part of hqs. Current equivalent systems of flight control of fly-by-wire aircraft with statically unstable airframe aim at meeting maneuver demands and provide required hqs. The hqs criteria are addressed herein largely for the fighter class of aircraft especially with the unstable airframes.
