Doping of Metal Precursors on Cadmium Selenide Quantum dots—A Review
Abstract
In this article, we review effects of doping on Cadmium-Selenide (CdSe) Quantum dots (QDs). Different dopants critically influence the properties and functionalities of nanocrystals (QDs). It is of strong interest to understand the structural characteristics of dopants and how they interact with the QDs. Differently, doped CdSe QDs were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique, UV-Visible absorption spectroscopy, photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy. The important results and measurements are discussed. CdSe quantum dots are semiconductors with a band-gap energy, and color, that is dependent on the size of the crystal. This makes them a great material for use in chemical and biological sensors, high-density optical memory, and LED flat panel displays.
