ABSTRACT

We have superfluous amount of solar radiation available on the Earth which we can use for various purposes like conventional and non conventional uses. Among all application and utilization of solar energy, the basic utilization of solar energy is to produce neat potable water with the help of solar distillation method. This is because water is one of the prime elements for the survival on the Earth and solar distillation method is very simple to produce potable water. As we have various designs available developed by various researchers but to ensure the higher performing active solar stills with some advancement (nanofluid) are noticed in a comparative manner based on energy metrics in the present work and some recommendations have been given also.

Key words: active solar still, nanofluid, energy metrics
