Quantify the Variation of Oil Yield from Castor Seeds Using Soxhlet Apparatus with the Solid/Solvent Ratio & Extraction Time

Use of non-edible oils for various commercial purposes is increasing nowadays worldwide. Therefore in search of this, seed having maximum yield while having least cost should be the best alternative. As a result, need is there to study the variation of oil yield from these non-edible oil seeds. Hence this study is focused on using castor seeds available in the area as the feedstock for oil production. The variability of oil yield from castor seeds through Soxhlet extraction process has been studied with extraction time & solid/solvent ratio, also the quality of oil has been assessed on different parameters.
