A Review on Current Status in Wind Energy Technologies

Abhiram Mishra

Abstract

Abstract

Energy is a required ingredient for the socio-economic development and economic growth of a country. Various renewable energy sources like wind energy is native and can help in minimizing the total dependency on fossil fuels.  Wind is known as an environmentally friendly and cost-effective solution to energy scarcities. Though, challenges remain in designing efficient and effective control systems that would exploit the output power of the turbines. Wind is generally considered as the indirect form of solar energy and is always being refilled by the Sun. Wind energy provides a variable and environmental-friendly option and national energy security at a time when decreasing global reserves of fossil fuels threatens the long-term sustainability of global economy. This paper reviews the current status in wind energy technologies.
